I am not sure what Una and Peregrine did immediately after that. You will have to use your imagination.
I always intended Sky Spiders to be about fifty parts long, mostly because I wanted to try and reach the NaNoWriMo goal of fifty thousand words (40,100 so far, including recaps and teasers).
Of course, I also always intended it to be driven by a barrage of escalating cliffhanger action. Exactly why the first of those goals seems to be coming to fruition, while the other degenerated into a meandering mess, is something to ponder.
In any case, this is now the longest anything that I've ever written, so I would say that my goal of making myself write something regularly has been achieved. Just a matter of pride now to actually reach some kind of coherent 'THE END'.

Ends are really, really hard. But are, ultimately, the most important aspect. However good the road, it seems a shame to wind up exactly where one started, or lost, or just in the wrong place. I still have no clear idea where my story will end, either.

I totally meant to read this but fell behind a long, long time ago... I think at this point it's probably best to wait until you've finished...
Not just a matter of pride -- unless that's pride in not letting your readers down. ;D
I am glad you're willing to finish it up...I think bringing an ending about from all the bits in between can be the trickiest part of a long story...I've started a numebr of stories that never have gone anywhere...I suspect the more you write the better you get. Hats off to you for keeping at it - I'm enjoying it :)

After that last scene, I would love to see what would happen next.
But you have definitely accomplished a LOT - especially characters with some dimension and a plot that is interesting and oh, your dialogue! Your dialogue always seems to further develop the characters and move the story forward while keeping the reader's interest...You should be proud - you've been earning it!
(Though I still can't wait for the rest of the story ;) Someday, please??
