At once, if not sooner...
Apparently made for the measely sum of $500, this short film set in the universe of Valve's acclaimed Half Life video game shows how the digital age can allow dedicated amateurs to create professional-quality productions. It's intended to be the first of a multi-part series.
I'm impressed -- I haven't played HL, was some of that in-game footage they edited in? It seems like that live-action machinima has a lot of potential for people making films like this.
@George: Well the CG models for the aircraft and tripod striders are quite possibly lifted from the game, but the rest looks original to me - even real world.
@Gnome: Yes, I suppose however cheap it becomes to create, with things the way they are it'll always be beyond the reach of many.
